According to Jimmy Murphy of Montreal Hockey Now, Christian Dvorak is drawing interest around the league. While the Canadiens are not shopping the veteran center, it has apparently not kept teams from calling GM Kent Hughes.
Statistically speaking, the 26 year-old Dvorak was the fourth most improved player on the Canadiens since the coaching change last February. At 0.77 points per game under Martin St-Louis, only Cole Caufield (0.95 Pts/GP) and Nick Suzuki (0.92 Pts/GP) were more productive offensively. He led the team’s centers by a wide margin, with a 56.7% faceoffs’ percentage, with Jake Evans distant second at 49.8%.
It was reported that teams had interest in Dvorak at trade deadline but he ended up staying with the Canadiens. He has three years remaining to his contract, with a cap hit of $4.45 million.
