By JD Lagrange – In The System has become a very popular feature with our readers. This week, let’s see how the team’s top prospects are progressing. The far right column shows how the players are trending based on the previous week. Remember that this is in no way some expert dissection and in-depth analysis, but rather an overview at one point in time about how those young prospects are producing at their respective level.
Skaters
First, let’s have a look at the skaters before turning our attention to the goaltenders.

It’s been a rough week for most of the top Habs’ prospects, with the top points producers managed only one point all week.
But Riley Kidney continues his ascension as since the trade to Gatineau, he averages 2.56 points per game and he’s one of the best points producers not only in the QMJHL, but in the entire CHL, on par with… Connor Bedard!
Filip Mesar continues is slow descent and for the first time all season, he now averages below a point per game in the OHL.
Justin Barron, Jesse Ylönen and Rafaël Harvey-Pinard are still with the Canadiens.
Goaltenders
And now, to the organization’s goaltending prospects…
NAME | TEAM | LEAGUE | GP | GAA | Sv% | TREND |

Jakub Dobes | Ohio State Univ. | NCAA | 34 | 2.35 | .916 | ⬇️ |
Emmett Croteau | Waterloo Black Hawks | USHL | 16 | 2.83 | .899 | ⬇️ |
Cayden Primeau | Laval Rocket | AHL | 24 | 3.35 | .902 | ⬇️ |
Frederik Dichow | Frölunda HC | SHL | 14 | 2.97 | .900 | ⬆️ |
Joe Vrbetic | Trois-Rivières Lions | ECHL | 20 | 3.49 | .885 | ⬆️ |
Laval Rocket | AHL | 4 | 4.05 | .871 | ➡️ |
It seems like we’re saying the same thing every week, but all goaltenders had an okay week, not great, not bad.
