In The System – February 13, 2023

By JD Lagrange – In The System has become a very popular feature with our readers. This week, let’s see how the team’s top prospects are progressing. The far right column shows how the players are trending based on the previous week. Remember that this is in no way some expert dissection and in-depth analysis, but rather an overview at one point in time about how those young prospects are producing at their respective level.

First, let’s have a look at the skaters before turning our attention to the goaltenders.

We have a new leader atop the leaderboard as Sean Farrell overtook both Riley Kidney and Joshua Roy this week. Filip Mesar also had a good week and returned to an average of a point per game for the season. Logan Mailloux continues his steady climb, he who has played more games this season than he did the past two seasons combined.

I decided to add Joël Teasdale to the list, he who has been red hot for the Laval Rocket the past couple of weeks. He enters the list with a more than respectable 0.74 points per game. William Trudeau, who was added to the list last week, continues his slow progression.

While he is putting up a few points, Joshua Roy has been on a slow downslope for the past few weeks. Jan Mysak has finally returned to play but didn’t get any points in his one game this week.

Justin Barron, Jesse Ylönen and Rafaël Harvey-Pinard are still with the Canadiens.

And now, to the organization’s goaltending prospects…

Jakub Dobes continues to be the one bright spot amongst Habs’ goaltending prospects, although both Emmitt Croteau and Cayden Primeau improved statistically this past week.
