By JD Lagrange – In The System has become a very popular feature with our readers. This week, let’s see how the team’s top prospects are progressing. The far right column shows how the players are trending based on the previous week. Remember that this is in no way some expert dissection and in-depth analysis, but rather an overview at one point in time about how those young prospects are producing at their respective level.
Skaters
First, let’s have a look at the skaters or, in other words, all players but goaltenders.

After getting cut from Team Canada for the World Juniors, Owen Beck sent Hockey Canada a message, putting up six points in two games. With four points in his last two games with Laval, defenseman Justin Barron also had a substantial jump up the chart.
I have added Laval Rocket defenseman Nicolas Beaudin, acquired in late October in a trade with the Chicago Blackhawks for Cam Hillis. The 23 year-old rearguard jumps right into the middle of the pack in points per game, with 11 points in 13 games so far in Laval.
When the World Junior Championships get underway, I will add a table of all Canadiens’ prospects and their production at the tournament.
Goaltenders
And now, to the organization’s goaltending prospects…
