In The System – November 28, 2022

By JD Lagrange – Just how are the Montreal Canadiens’ prospects doing, you asked? In this the third edition of this new feature, let’s see how the team’s top prospects are progressing. You will notice a column to show how the players are trending based on the previous week. Remember that this is in no way some expert dissection and in-depth analysis, but rather an overview at one point in time about how those young prospects are producing at their respective level.

Skaters

First, let’s have a look at the skaters or, in other words, all players but goaltenders.

You will notice that we have added Emil Heineman to the list, he who is back from injury suffered at the Canadiens’ training camp. He has played his first four games in the SHL and has recorded two goals already.

Riley Kidney has surpassed Joshua Roy in points per game. Lane Hutson, Xavier Simoneau, Jesse Ylönen, Miguël Tourigny, Justin Barron and Rafaël Harvey-Pinard had an excellent week as well.

Goaltenders

And now, to the organization’s goaltending prospects…

Only Jakub Dobes has improved his stats from a week ago. Looking at it statistically, the Canadiens might have to see help sooner than later in goaltending depth.

Hope you enjoy this feature. See you next week.
