The Montreal Canadiens have announced the roster for their Rookie Camp, set to begin on Wednesday. There is a total of 15 forwards, 10 defensemen and three goaltenders on this year’s list of rookies, which includes some of this summer’s draft picks like Juraj Slafkovsky, Filip Mesar and Owen Beck.
There are a few NHL hopefuls participating in camp this year, which include Slafkovsky (of course), but also Kaiden Guhle, Justin Barron, Jordan Harris, Mattias Norlinder, Arber Xhekaj and Jan Mysak, amongst others.
Logan Mailloux is listed on the roster, although he is currently listed as injured. Could this mean that his shoulder could be ready during camp, or will he simply stay with the other prospects to continue his integration? We know that Mailloux doesn’t have a contract for the upcoming season.
The Baby-Canadiens will be participating in a rookies’ tournament in Buffalo. The Prospects Challenge features rookies from six NHL clubs: the Canadiens, the Boston Bruins, the Buffalo Sabres, the New Jersey Devils, the Ottawa Senators, and the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Prospects will be reporting to rookie camp on Wednesday, September 14th and the games will start the next day. Here’s the Canadiens’ schedule:
|Thursday, Sept.15||Sabres||Canadiens||7:00 pm|
|Friday, Sept.16||Canadiens||Devils||7:00 pm|
|Sunday, Sept.18||Senators||Canadiens||12:00 pm|
All games will be played at the Sabres’ practice facility (LECOM Harborcenter), which is attached to their main rink at KeyBank Center.
