It was the late Summer, early Fall of 2021. Burnt out by the constant negativity, mostly on social media, I contemplated shutting everything down. In fact, I did. I deleted my Twitter account and my blog under my personal name. I was ready to call it quit. But then, a couple of opportunities made me change my mind. I had the occasion of writing a few pieces for Habsworld.net, a very positive experience for which I am grateful to Brian La Rose, who still shares some of our articles on his website.
In October 2021, I decided to start this project, and called it Cheering The Logo. You see, as a fan of 50+ year, I have seen players, coaches and managers come and go. One thing remained consistent throughout those decades: my love for the team, for the logo. I understand and strongly believe that cheering for the logo in front matters more than the names in the back of the jerseys.
Soon after, I joined Habs Tonight as a co-host, a venture that turned out to be way too short. What I shared with Dale Weise and his crew was not only the passion for the Canadiens, something most fans do have. But it was about presenting a more positive twist to any given situation, contrarily to a few mainstream media and certainly a few blogs and podcasts out there. In fact, I wrote a post for them about what they call “Habsitivity“, which unfortunately has been taken down since. Rest assured, I will post it on here soon though.
Here at Cheering The Logo, we have since added a couple of contributors and we are always looking for more quality writers. If it’s something that picks your curiosity, you can find out more here.
Since October, we have experience a rapid and steady growth in readership. This past month, we not only beat, but shattered our readership record from the month before. We have since done a soft launch of our Cheering The Logo Podcast. I have done one episode with Sylvain and one with Bob, with more to come. You can find those on our Youtube Channel.
Top-15 Montreal Canadiens Blogs
Yesterday, we received an email from the good folks at feedspot.com, informing us that our website was selected as one of the Top-15 Montreal Canadiens Blogs on the web. Considering how young our site is, this is obviously something that we are very proud of.
Hi There,
I emailed regarding your blog Cheering The Logo which was selected by Feedspot as one of the Top 15 Montreal Canadiens Blogs on the web.
https://blog.feedspot.com/montreal_canadiens_blogs/
We’d be thankful if you can help us spread the word by briefly mentioning Top 15 Montreal Canadiens Blogs in any of your upcoming posts.
We are honoured to be mentioned with the likes of Eyes On The Prize, A Winning Habit, Habsworld and The Athletic, just to name a few.
A big thank you obviously goes to our contributors, Bob Trask, Marc-André Breault and Sylvain Perreault for their quality articles or work behind the scene.
A huge, huge thank you to you, dear readers and listeners, for your dedicated support for this little project. We promise to continue to provide quality material in a positive manner, as much as humanly possible.
If you like what we do here, please share our work with your friends. This is not a money-maker for yours truly. It is a hobby, a passion that we share. I’m hoping to break even one day, or perhaps have a few dollars that I can give our contributors. Don’t do the sharing for money reasons though. Share because you like what we do. Share because you want others to be able to read or listen to positive content on the web.

Glad you have received this recognition. I have just left Twitter, where I followed you, and now follow Habs through blogs, YouTube and individual websites. I’m still looking for positive work and not interested in trashing anyone. Keep up your great work.
