According to NHL Insider Frank Seravalli, the five players most likely to be dealt by trade deadlines are Ben Chiarot, Artturi Lehkonen, Jeff Petry, Tyler Toffoli and Brett Kulak. He also mentioned Josh Anderson drawing a lot of attention but he didn’t put him on his top-5 list of likely candidates to leave soon.
Back in 2018 while with the New York Rangers, Jeff Gorton initiated their rebuild by trading not only pending UFAs, but a few key pieces as well to jump start the changes. Rick Nash, Michael Grabner and Nick Holden were pending UFAs, but J.T. Miller and Ryan McDonagh were not and those trades laid the groundwork for Ryan Strome and K’Andre Miller.
Seravalli also mentioned that the Boston Bruins could have interest in Toffoli.
