
We’re getting to mid-January and with the trade deadline slowly creeping in, rumours are starting to fly. And when your team just fired their General Manager and find themselves in the basement of the NHL, you can expect that the rumour mill will be spinning full speed around the team.
Jim Matheson of the Edmonton Journal is advancing that the Oilers should be all over the Canadiens to get their hands on right-winger Josh Anderson, who is out with an upper-body injury but skated with the team in a none-contact jersey.
Matheson states that the Oilers don’t have a power-forward with a mean streak on their top-six forwards and Anderson would fit in nicely with them. He suggests that they could offer a first-round pick in 2022, forward Xavier Bourgault and something else…
