Three Habs Players On Marek’s Top-25 Trade List

Christmas is coming, as the NHL is only two weeks away from its annual break. And that’s when hockey insiders are coming out with their lists of the most likely players to change address by trade deadline. Sportsnet’s newfound insider Jeff Marek released his today and no less than three Canadiens’ players are amongst the top most likely to be traded, according to him.

1- Ben Chiarot: Marek isn’t the only one believing that Jeff Gorton will trade his pending UFA. Most insiders believe that the Canadiens can land a first round pick for the veteran defenseman and it’s hard to imaging that Gorton would pass on that opportunity.

2- Brendan Gallagher: Gallagher has hinted not being sure to want to stick around in the event the Habs want to go through a rebuild. Marek believes that many teams would love to have a guy like Gallagher in their line-up.

3- Tyler Toffoli: According to Marek, Toffoli, much like Gallagher, is unlikely to want to be part of a rebuild at this stage in his career. That’s not what he signed for when he came to Montreal.

Chiarot is also first on TSN Insider’s Chris Johnson’s trade bait board.
